The sisters of the Eta Omicron chapter went out to a pumpkin patch with the brothers of PMA to celebrate the fall season and Halloween.
They took some silly pictures, picked out some pumpkins, and enjoyed some fall-themed treats at the local pumpkin patch Ferrari Farms. After they got their fill of fall, they headed back to campus to watch some scary movies and carve pumpkins.

For our fall recruitment, the Eta Omicron chapter chose the theme of Broadway. The sisters started out the week by having an event titled Show-Tune Sing Along where the sisters and ladies who were interested in learning about SAI sang songs from Aladdin, Hamilton, and even the Green Day musical. Later in the evening, the men of PMA decided to come and join in on the fun to show their support.
On Tuesday, there was an event titled Backstage Pass where the sisters told everyone who attended about Sigma Alpha Iota and what sisterhood meant to them. The event ended by the sisters performing the song Pan in Canon for all that attended. Thursday had an event that tested the Broadway knowledge of everyone, titled Broadway trivia night. While there was a sister or two who knew all about musicals, everyone else ended up learning a lot about different musicals and the business in general. The last night of recruitment was an event to get to know all the people who were interested in joining SAI. The sisters really enjoyed getting to hear their answers to questions about music and even what type of sandwich they were. Overall, the Broadway themed recruitment week was a fun-filled success and the Eta Omicron chapter can't wait until the next recruitment. In 2017, Sigma Alpha Iota participated in the University of Nevada, Reno's homecoming competition. Another music fraternity on campus, Phi Mu Alpha, also participated in the events and Leah Burnett and Daishawn Richardson-Brown represented SAI and PMA respectively. Liliana Briggs also was a candidate for homecoming, although she represented another organization that she was involved in on campus.
In the Spring of 2017, the Eta Omicron sisters decided to help out their community by cleaning up the local park as a Community Service event. The local park, San Rancho Rafael Park, is located conveniently across the street from the University of Nevada, Reno campus. The sisters braved the Reno heat, and managed to pick up a bunch of trash that people had left behind.
In 2016, Sigma Alpha Iota participated in the University of Nevada, Reno's homecoming competition. Tiffany Thomas represented SAI in the running for Homecoming Queen. While she did not win, she took part in all the homecoming events and the sisters participated in the Homecoming Parade.
In the competition for homecoming at the University of Nevada, Reno, the queen and king crowned were from Sigma Alpha Iota and our brother fraternity Phi Mu Alpha. Aleta Vitkus won the title of Homecoming Queen and Javier Lopez-Rivera won the title of Homecoming King. Congratulations to both of them.
In the summer of 2017 and also 2018, some of the sisters of Eta Omicron volunteered their time to help out at Lake Tahoe Music Camp. Lake Tahoe Music Camp, otherwise known as LTMC, is a band camp that is funded through the University of Nevada, Reno located next to the beautiful Lake Tahoe. The sisters were there during the first week of July as camp counselors. In 2016, SAI sisters made up the entirety of the female counselors at the camp.
In 2014, Homecoming for the University of Nevada, Reno included a section called the "Hunger Games." Within this they had a multitude of physical challenges such as the obstacle course. Sisters Brittany Dunn and Leah Burnett participated in these events.
Both photos are from jumping over a spinning cushion during the obstacle course. As a way to celebrate the green-themed holiday of Saint Patrick's Day, the Eta Omicron sisters held a themed bake sale. The chapter does a large amount of bake sales during the year in order to raise money for SAI Philanthropies.
